Tech Support, Please…I’m Just here to Blog

People.
Let’s be clear about something right from the start:

Tech-savvy, I am not.

On my journey to maxing out my Ironman account, I’ve learned shockingly little about technology—much to my man’s dismay. And before you ask: no, I have retained absolutely zero of the valuable knowledge he’s tried to share with me over the last two years.

In all fairness… he has muscles.
And when he starts talking about graphics cards, airflow, or whatever it is that makes a graphics card “good,” my eyes begin to wander. His voice fades into the background. I nod like I’m listening.
But I didn’t hear a word. Not one. Sorry, babe.

The Brilliant (and Questionable) Idea

At some point, while trying to sort through the chaos in my head, I had a moment of inspiration….

I should start a blog.

(If am being honest- the protagonist in my current audio book is a blogger- DIY’s like everyone else.)

Not for fame. Not for followers.
For me.
To keep the crazy at bay.
To give my brain a safe place to dump all the nonsense it holds onto daily.

Sounded simple enough.

  • Create stories about life? ✔️

  • Research how to make a website? ✔️

  • Watch 47 YouTube tutorials of perky people explaining how to build said website step-by-step ✔️✔️

  • Execute creation of said website and upload my thoughts into the void? ❌

Yeah. No.

That last part almost derailed the entire project.

The tech struggles are REAL.

Stress, Sweat (And the Blog that Survived It)

“Frustrated” doesn’t even begin to cover it.

The process nearly derailed the whole mission.

Stress-eating happened.
I gave up mentally at least 50 times.
I walked away.
Came back.
Walked away again.
Went to the gym and took out my rage on my legs.
Came back semi-refreshed… and delusionally optimistic.

What felt like days (but was apparently only six hours, according to Mr. Muscles) later, I ended up with… this.

You’re looking at it:
Simple. Humble. Functional-ish.
This little space I now call Respawns and Responsibilities. Because I keep doing both-daily.

What Even Is This Blog?

This is where I’m dumping my mental ramblings—about teaching, parenting, RuneScape, and the absolute circus that is my day-to-day life. Will anyone read it? Probably not.

But maybe, just maybe… someone will stumble across it at 1 AM after a wine-fueled carb binge and decide to:

  • give me a pro tip on how to get fletching XP without standing in the farming guild cutting yew logs like a sad little lumberjack.
  • share a teaching horror story so I feel a little less alone.
  • Reassure me that they, too are afraid of the 14-year-old demon currently inhabiting their daughter’s body.

Something—anything—to make the last six hours of tech-induced breakdowns worth it.
